Plant Nurseries have made and will continue to make a significant contribution to the success of reforestation efforts in Dominica. The Government of Dominica operates seven nurseries distributed throughout the island. In addition, there are several private nurseries that provide thousands of plants and help the projects reach their desired targets.

Public Plant Nurseries
The public or government-owned and sponsored nurseries are operated by the Forestry and Wildlife Division. The Concorde and Melville Hall nurseries are privately owned but operate as public nurseries with assistance from the Government. All public nurseries provide plants to various Forestry ranges and have made a significant contribution to boosting the restoration efforts after the passage of Hurricane Maria. The nurseries specialize in a variety of plants from hardwood such as Mahogany and Blue Mahoe to citrus and cocoa.
