The farmers are a vital part of every aspect of this project. Their participation in the various components has contributed tremendously to its continued success. In order to enhance food security, it is important to support farmers with resources, training, and technology to increase agricultural productivity, improve their livelihoods, and make agriculture more sustainable. Additionally, policies and initiatives should be implemented to strengthen the resilience of the farming sector to various challenges, including climate change, market fluctuations, and pests and diseases. Farmers are at the center of efforts to ensure food security. Their ability to produce enough food, both at the local and global levels, is critical to preventing food shortages and ensuring that people have access to safe, nutritious, and affordable food. Farmers are increasingly adopting sustainable farming practices that reduce the use of harmful chemicals, promote soil health, and conserve water resources. Sustainable agriculture is crucial for long-term food security by maintaining the productivity of the land. Under the Sustainable Land Management in the Commonwealth of Dominica project, IICA and PISLM teamed up. Increasing the ability and effectiveness of farmers are among the project’s goals.
